PHC Initiative Africa is a non-governmental organisation disrupting the irregularities in the Nigeria health care system in particular and Africa at large; using simple, innovative and cost-effective strategies by our multi-sectoral approach to primary health care. We strengthen primary health care through shifting focus largely from curative to preventive care in order to strike balance on health equality regardless of one’s socioeconomic status. This is done through advocacy, influencing policies that can transform the health of the people. We reach out to the government and the led; and the community and its people. Here, it is about synergy targeted at ensuring health for all.
PHC Initiative Africa was born out of the dare need to ensure the common Nigerian masses can access quality health care services at all times irrespective of location, socio-economic status, and financial capacity. Nigeria is estimated to have a population of 206 million and an annual growth rate of 3.2 %. It is the most populous country in Africa and has been projected to have a population of 406 million by year 2050, making it the third largest population in the world. In view of the above, we’re are doubling our efforts in seeing that everyone has access to quality healthcare services at all times.

i. Job Title: Grant Manager
Location: Kaduna/Abuja
Reports to: Executive Director

JOB DETAILS:
We are searching for a methodical and strategic grant manager to work with PHC Initiative Africa in enhancing funding models, identifying new sources of funding, and developing sustainable and effective grants programs. Duties for the grants manager will include managing overall grant efforts, optimizing the grant administration process, overseeing fund-raising, preparing progress reports, ensuring compliance with grant regulations, reviewing grant proposals, managing grant databases, engaging with donor agencies, educating staff on policies, and preparing financial reports. Your skills and expertise in successful grants management will aid our organization in serving the public by securing continuous funding, improving business opportunities through effective funding programs, and executing meaningful projects.
The ideal candidate for this role should have superior organizational skills, great leadership qualities, and exceptional budgeting and monitoring skills. The outstanding grants manager should re-enforce relationships with donors, ensure that grant programs operate efficiently, streamline grant administration, and keep our organization fiscally sound.
REQUIREMENTS:

ii. Job Title: Grant Assistant
Location: Kaduna/Kano/Abuja
Reports to: Grant Manager

JOB DETAILS:
Under the supervision of the Grants Manager, the Grant Assistant will be responsible for the completion of grants management tasks. He/She will provide administrative and financial assistance to the Grant Department and shall be responsible in overseeing sub-grants monitoring and reporting (including financial reports). Will assist the Grant Manager in monitoring program requirements. Be fully familiar with the grant including goals and objectives, and all program requirements. Participate in all meetings and activities organized by the Grants Manager. Prepare and compile data or reports as required by donors/funding agencies. Will assists in maintaining financial records for assigned grant projects. Support finance, grants and programs to ensure timely submission of all project narrative and financial reports in accordance with donor requirements and procedure. Will perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned to ensure the goals and objectives of projects are met.
REQUIREMENTS:
• Relevant financial management work experience.
• Degree or Diploma in Management or it’s equivalent.
• Knowledge of database programs and Microsoft Suite.
• Good communication skills.
• Administrative and organizational skills.
• Ability to Juggle multiple sub-grants and work independently, as well as with others in a collaborative often fast Pace team environment.

iii. Job Title: Mental Health Advisor
Location: Kaduna
Reports to: Executive Director

JOB DETAILS:
We are seeking a professional in mental health who shall be responsible for providing PHC Initiative Africa with the technical support needed to tackle children and vulnerable young adult experiencing deterioration in their mental health or who have reached crisis. The advisor should be able to advise partners and engage relevant stakeholders on service provision and community mental health programs. Identify with seriously mental health problems, suicidal ideation and self harm within a community and proffer the best intervention approach to tackle such challenge. Should be able to collaborate with other health practitioners to undertake comprehensive assessment of young people’s health need, risk and vulnerabilities.
Promote awareness about mental health issues, inform public policy, achieve equity for mental health care comparable to other health care, and reduce stigma and discrimination against those mental illnesses. Shall work closely with the programs director for proper planning, implementation and execution of mental health related programs.
REQUIREMENTS:
• A degree in phycology, behavioral science or social sciences.
• A recognised certification in Mental Health or psychology profession will be of strong advantage.
• Cognitive behavioral therapy skills.
• Ability to respond sensitively to the needs of individuals experiencing mental distress.
• Experience in training delivery.
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills
• Ability to work as a team.

iv. Job Title: M & E Officer
Location: Kaduna
Reports to: Director of Programme
JOB DETAILS:
The Monitoring and Evaluation officer will provide operational support for the execution of any intervention programs by designing, coordinating and implementing the M & E model for research and learning framework of projects. Working closely with the Programs Manager, the M & E officer shall be responsible for developing baseline data for each project component and for all project indicators. Shall also be conducting data analysis to measure project achievement against KPIs. Review Management information system and provide recommendations to optimize use for maximal impact. Will also develop reports on M & E findings and identify lessons learnt to facilitate decision making of relevant stakeholders. Shall develop systematic monitoring frameworks to improve qualitative and quantitative evidence gathered from projects and will also provide technical assistance to the implementing agencies, particularly in relation to monitoring, reporting and facilitation of use of data for action.
REQUIREMENTS:
• Bachelor or Diploma certificate in M & E, Statistics or Economics.
• Strong computer skills particularly in spreadsheet, database, statistical applications, including DHIS 2 for data management.
• Familiarity with USAID or any donor M &E / reporting system is highly desirable.
• Strong report writing skills
• NGO experience is an added advantage
• Strong problem solving skills and ability to foresee problems and initiate appreciate action.

V. Job Title: Team Lead
Location: Abuja and Lagos
Report to: Director of Programme
JOB DETAILS:
Team Lead will be the head of project execution in the state. He/She shall oversee both support services and the implementation projects in the state ensuring national protocols and agreed strategies are followed. Will follow up on letters, proposals and ensure proper implementation of programs according to the work plans and budgets in order to meet targets outlined in the contract. Ensure the programme meets or exceeds agreed targets set for the State by reviewing programme performance data and programme management arrangements on a regular basis, identifying and agreeing residual actions and mitigation strategies. Ensure strong budget management and compliance to donor’s requirements, enabling the project to demonstrate value for money to the donor. Ensure programme implementation demonstrates high levels of commitment to PHC Initiate Africa’s mission, vision and values in order to ensure the objectives of your role and the state programme are met.
REQUIREMENTS:
• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in any course
• experience managing development projects in Nigeria or similar context, with a strong focus on field implementation.
• Strong communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Experience of working with national and/or State level government structures to strengthen their capacities will be of advantage.
• Experience in management of finance and budget monitoring and risk management.
• Ability of solving complex issues through analysis.
• Self-motivated and results orientated.
• Demonstrable record of accomplishment of meeting or exceeding programme targets.

vi. Job Title: Senior Technical Advisor
Location: Abuja/ Kaduna
Reports to: Executive Director
JOB DETAILS:
The Senior Technical Advisor will provide leadership and technical support to the project management to ensure high quality programme development and implementation. Shall work closely with the Program’s Department in providing technical support on budgets and resource planning for overall execution of projects. Shall develop assessment criteria and success framework for programs as a guide for the team. The STA shall also provide our organization with cross-functional collaboration and project management support, ensuring we collaborate smoothly with various functional partners. Shall provide us with the technical know-how in partnership engagement with donor agencies and government bodies to ensure contract reached are properly documented to the latter. Shall work closely with the director for policy and advocacy in the development of policy guidelines as it relates to the mandate of our organization. Shall represent our organization in specific technical meetings and fora, including collaboration meetings with partners, clients and other stakeholders. Provide support in the development of strategic documents like; Proposal, concept note, frameworks etc. Shall perform other related duties as assigned by the Executive Director.

REQUIREMENTS:
• MBBS holder or degree in any biological sciences course with at least a master degree in the relevant field.
• In-depth knowledge of project design Proposal writing.
• Experience in finance and working with budget is essential.
• Deep understanding and application of technical principles and concepts in NGOs.
• Strong research methods background desired, including research design (both qualitative and quantitative), sampling procedures, data analysis and reporting.
• Familiarity with donor expectations and guidelines for key health donors such as USAID, USDA, FCDO, UNICEF, etc.
