A Cayuga County Legislator: Appointed as a Fundraising and Grant Advisor with PHC Initiative Africa

We delighted to announce that Tricia Kerr has joined PHC Initiative Africa as our Fundraising and Grant Advisor. This decision was based on her exceptional experience and passion for driving positive change around the world.

We are pleased to offer her this position effective from 21st April 2023. We extend our congratulations to her for joining our global team, and we are excited to tap from her wealth of experience.

Tricia Kerr was born and raised in Auburn, New York and currently serves as District 12 Cayuga County Legislator (NOP), representing a portion of the city. She has studied and worked in the intersecting fields of planning, community, and economic development for nearly twenty-five years. Her dream is to end hunger and malnutrition globally and at home.

As a grant writer, Tricia has secured funds for a multitude of public health initiatives, including food security, health insurance enrollment and navigation, breastfeeding support, early childhood development, healthy families child abuse prevention, domestic violence intervention, clean drinking water infrastructure projects, wastewater disposal, parks and trails development, lead-based paint reduction in homes, accessibility modifications, and other health and social determinants of health initiatives.

Tricia is interested in global food security, nutrition, population health, human rights, soil health, tech innovation, and supporting the next generation of farmers. She is employed as a grant writer and marketing specialist by East Hill Medical Center, a Federally Qualified Health Center in Auburn, New York, providing integrated primary care to county residents regardless of ability to pay. Tricia holds an MBA from Quantic School of Business and Technology, a BA from SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry, and an AS from SUNY Cayuga Community College. She resides in Auburn, New York with her husband Fred, dog Jerry, and cat Chessie.
