phc initiative africa
We envision an Africa where there is no health inequality irrespective of your location, financial status, age and gender.
About Our Initiative
Founded 2019, we are a non-governmental organisation disrupting the irregularities in the Nigeria health care system in particular and Africa at large; using simple, innovative and cost-effective strategies by our multi-sectoral approach to primary health care. We strengthen primary health care through shifting focus largely from curative to preventive care in order to strike balance on health equality regardless of one’s socioeconomic status. This is done through advocacy, influencing policies that can transform the health of the people. We reach out to the government and the led; and the community and its people. Here, it is about synergy targeted at ensuring health for all.
This is a capacity building programme pegged at training the hospital frontline workers on Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) for COVID-19 in the primary health care centres. We train 10 to 15 personnel per facility on IPC with emphasis on COVID-19.
COVID-19 has affected every sphere of human endeavor directly or indirectly. Hence schools were closed. Nurse Per School campaign is one of our most darling projects meant to improve the health of the students directly and by extension their homes.
The goal of this project is aimed at improving the breastfeeding culture among the grassroots women in Nigeria through training at least 10,000 breastfeeding counsellors who will provide skilled breastfeeding counselling to potential mothers across the 774 LGAs in Nigeria by 2025.
